A new iPhone production plant in Chennai: Investment - Rs. 7000 Crores

Apple. Of the USA, one of the premier manufacturers of cell phones, known popularly as iPhones, is investing Rs. 7000 Crores to set up an iPhone manufacturing plant in the Chennai Metro City.
Presently, the maximum number of iPhones are manufactured in China.
In this situation, with the recent trend of major disputes between the USA and China, Apple is now interested in setting up a manufacturing plant in India.
Subsequently, Apple is set to invest Rs. 7000 Crore jointly with its major components manufacturer Foxconn of Taiwan.
As Foxconn already has a production plant in Chennai, Apple has decided to set up an iPhone production plant in Chennai.
It may be noted at this juncture Apple is already manufacturing some models of cell phones jointly with Wistron of Taiwan in Bengaluru.
Presently, Apple is set to expand its manufacturing capacity by joining with Foxconn.
Further, Apple has also planned to open its stores in Mumbai and Delhi in India in the 1st Phase.
