The upper air circulation is showing its effect now in the city of Chennai. The latest piece of information is Chennai would get rains from Saturday night due to this upper air circulation and there might be rains for 4 more days. This was according to private weather bloggers.

It was predicted by the meteorological department that the sky condition would be generally cloudy and moderate rain would occur in some places. It must be taken into account that there is a possibility of heavy rains in places such as Tiruvallur and Kancheepuram which includes southern suburbs and northern suburbs.

Point to be noted is when compared to Chennai city places like Villupuram, Cuddalaore, Thiruvannamalai and Vellore are expected to receive heavier rains.

It was posted by popular weather blogger of Chennai, Mr. Pradeep John in a social media post that Saturday to Wednesday are the days to watch for KTC (Kancheepuram, Tiruvallur, Chengalpet). He mentioned about other parts of TN that would get intense thunderstorms.

The point is the presence of upper air circulation nearby would enhance the storms triggered by the heat in the interiors. Information gathered is through the night, there could be storms continuing and it would be due to the upper air circulation and heat in the interior places. The storms would struggle to reach the coast due to air circulation in the sea.

Mr. Pradeep John explained that if the storms form close and converge close to the coast then it would be superb. It must be noted that the monthly rainfall in the month of September in Chennai is 147 mm and many parts belonging to north Chennai received as much in just one day itself.

The temperature of the day would be lower because the sky would be cloudy. The maximum temperature is likely to be around 33 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature is likely to be around 24 degrees Celsius. This was as per the meteorological prediction. In Chennai, Nungambakkam recorded 7.3 mm rain and Meenambakkam recorded 2.9 mm rain on Friday. It is important to mention that on Friday the maximum temperature was 31.6 degree Celsius in core places and in the suburbs.
