Yes! A steep increase in tomato price!
Tomatoes are being sold at Rs 40 per kg at the wholesale market in Koyambedu, up from Rs 25- Rs 30 a week ago. This is mainly due to the shortage of supply from neighboring Karnataka.
Meanwhile, on the brighter side, the onion price has nearly halved to Rs 30 per kg!
Tomato price was fluctuating between Rs 25 and Rs 30 per kg for the past one week. Now, it has increased to Rs 40 per kg due to shortage in supply from Karnataka owing to heavy rainfall.
