All the 14 Co-optex shops in the Chennai Metro City are being revamped to win the maximum attention of the prospective buyers as worthy competition to the private brands textile shops!

So far, 30 Co-optex shops in the Tamil Nadu State including 4 in the Chennai Metro City has been revamped with winning more attention from the prospective buyers - there has been an obvious spurt in sales!

Co-optex has introduced a whole new variety of clothing items for this Deepavali festival. Co-optex Managing Director Venkatesh explained in this regard:

‘With the objective of winning the maximum attraction/attention from the prospective buyers, we have been introducing a lot of new variety every year. New variety and designs have been introduced for this Deepavali.

A special squad was formed for the introduction of new designs with persons who have qualified from the National Centre for Textile Design (NCTD) this year. ‘Silk Linen’ sarees with light shades, designed by the Coimbatore Weavers’ Association have been introduced. These sarees cost from Rs. 4500 to Rs. 5300.

Further, we have introduced ‘3-part’ sarees and ‘Tuscer’ cotton sarees this year. These have become hugely popular especially among young women. Apart from the traditional saree forms in Tamil Nadu such as Sungudi, Chetti Nadu, Kanchi cotton, Koorainadu, Sediputta had not been woven with the looms for the past few years.  There was an acute shortage of weavers of the above kinds of sarees.

So, a special training course on the traditional ‘know-how’ or technology was conducted for the weavers on behalf of Co-optex. Thus, for this Deepavali season, new designs of the above-mentioned traditional sarees have been introduced for sales.

We have introduced the ‘kurta’ variety of shirts for the gents. They cost Rs. 725-760.  In order to win maximum customers, a huge special discount of 30% is on offer!

A sales target of Rs. 130 Crores worth of textile has been set during this Deepavali sales.’
