The Police Department has announced some changes in traffic due to the observation of Guards Memorial Day in the section from Santhome to R. K. Salai on 19th and 21st October.
In an announcement released yesterday, it is mentioned:
‘The Police Memorial Day is observed in front of the Memorial located in front of the Tamil Nadu Police Department Headquarters at 8.00 AM on the 21st of October.
Rehearsals are to be carried out on this today (18th October) and tomorrow (19th). So, some traffic changes as under are being made for these 2 days:
- Light Commercial vehicles and 2-wheelers proceeding from Santhome High Road to Gandhi Statue will turn left in the Karaneeswarar junction and move via Karaneeswarar Pagoda Street, Ambedkar Bridge-Natesan Road junction to reach Dr. Radhakrishnan Road or Kamarajar Road.
- The Chennai Metro City buses proceeding from Santhome to Gandhi Statue will turn left at the Santhome signal, and move via Kutcheri Road, Luz junction, Karpagambal Nagar Main Road, and Dr. P. S. Sivasami Road to reach Dr. Radhakrishnan Road and proceed to their destinations.
- The vehicles proceeding from Kannagi Statue via Kamarajar Road to Santhome will turn left at the Kamarajar Roads-Lloyd’s Road junction and take the beach approach road to reach beach road and via Light House to Karaneeswarar temple junction.
- The vehicles proceeding via Dr. Radhakrishnan Road to Light House/Santhome will turn left at the Dr. Radhakrishnan Road MRTS and reach Kamarajar Road via the Lloyd`s Road approach road and to Light House/Santhome via the Beach Approach Road.
