Rains to continue for some more days in Chennai

On Sunday, 20th October, the several places belonging to Chennai received rains.

It is now said that Chennai would receive rains for few more days. Important localities in Chennai such as Perambur, ICF, Adyar, T. Nagar, Anna Salai, Ashok Nagar, Mambalam, Thoraipakkam etc received good amount of rains on Sunday morning and during the day many other places in Chennai got short spells of rains.

It must be taken into account that the rains kept the day temperature at 30 degrees Celsius that was 2 degrees below the normal. The officials belonging to the meteorological department later revealed that Nungambakkam received 2 cm of rains and Meenambakkam got 1.2 cm of rains at 5:30 pm.

The information is the condition of the sky is likely to be cloudy and light to moderate rains is likely to occur in some places in Chennai. It was mentioned by the officials that the maximum temperature would be around 32 degree Celsius and the minimum temperature would be around 25 degrees Celsius.

In the next few days, many districts in TN like Villupuram, Cuddalore, Nagapattinam, Thiruvarur, Thanjavur, Pudukottai, Nilgris, Coimbatore, Ramanathapuram, Sivagangai and Tirunelveli would get heavy to very heavy rains. In the isolated places in TN, thunderstorm activity and lightning might occur and this was according to the officials.

Important piece of information is Bhuvanagiri in Cuddalore district received 9 cm of rainfall and next was Nagercoil and it got 8 cm of rains. Places like Perunchani, Kanimar, Puthan dam present in Kanniyakumari district got 7cm of rains.
