The news that has emerged out now is Dr. MGR Medical University has introduced a post graduate diploma course in ‘Public Health Journalism’. The course would be for duration of 1 year and as many as 8 students would be admitted for the course.
It is important to note that the last date for the receipt of applications is 6th November and the list of selected candidates would be published in the second week of November on the university website.
Based on the short listing of the candidates, an entrance examination would be held and the application forms could be got from the university website www.tnmgrmu.ac.in.
Information collected is the course would include introduction to health journalism and laws governing health. It would also have news reporting and writing, human anatomy and diseases of public health importance etc. One important piece of information is the candidates would need to do a project work also.
An amount of Rs 7100 would be collected as fees from the candidates studying this PG diploma course. It is said that the candidates must have attendance of 85% and they must surrender their original certificates during the admission. It must be noted that Dr. MGR Medical University was established in the year 1987 with a motto of ‘Health for All’.
