The central government has planned to levy the maximum penalty for the individuals keeping gold in their possession without any receipt.
It is gathered that the central government would ask the individuals in possession of gold to come forward by themselves and surrender the gold kept without receipts and a minimum penalty would be levied for this.
The central government has further planned to fix a maximum limit for keeping gold and a very heavy penalty to be levied for the individuals in possession of the unaccounted gold.
If the value of the jewelry kept by married women is below a particular amount, the exemption would be given for the same from any penalty.
