With the prices of gold and silver coming down again, the jewelry stores in the city saw a rise in sales in Tuesday as well.
As of Tuesday, the price of a gram of silver costs Rs. 45.49, which is a Rs. 10 per gram decrease in the last ten days. A gram of 22 carat gold costed Rs. 2441. The price is Rs. 68 less that Monday. A sovereign was worth Rs. 19528 on Tuesday, which is Rs. 2552 down over the past five days.
Experts say that the drop in prices may continue for the next few weeks before it stabilizes. The reason for the drop is said to be the strong global equity market.
