Installation of ‘Jammers’ (used for blocking the communication signals on cell phones) at the examination centers have been made mandatory.  In this regard, the University Grants Commission (UGC) has ordered all the Universities to strictly follow the policy decisions of the government.

The central government took a decision in the year 2016 to install on a trial basis, ’jammers’ of lower capacity in order to prevent the malpractices in the examination center through equipment which functions on the basis of radio vibration

In an already communicated correspondence, UGC had addressed all the University Vice-chancellors and the students that the central government order regarding the installation of jammers must be confirmed.

Approval has been granted to the Public Sector Enterprises Electronics Corporation of Inda Limited and Bharath Electronics Limited to supply on a rental basis low-capacity jammers to the examination centers. It is mentioned that jammers must not be procured from unapproved sources.
