An official press release announced the 21 books that are in the race for the Commonwealth Prize. The Prize winner will be announced at the Hay Festival on May 14th at London and will receive a cash prize of GBP 10000.
Five Indians are in list. They are Misi Saran for ‘The Other Side of Light’, Jeet Thayil for ‘Narcopolis’, Jerry Pinto for ‘Em and the Big Hoom’, Nilanjana Roy for ‘The Wildlings’ and Farhad Sorabjee for ‘God on Every Wind’.
