Most of us would have eaten nuts like almonds, cashews, walnuts, etc but how many have tried pili nuts.

Mostly found in places like Northern Australia, Papua New Guinea, and South-East Asia, pili nuts or canarium ovatum are species belonging to the tropical tree of the genus canarium.

It is amazing to mention that these pili nuts are distinctive triangle-shaped nuts (6 to 7 cm long with a hard shell) and has high nutritional content.

Various ingredients present in pilli nuts are proteins, fats, carbohydrate, calcium, iron, magnesium, potassium, phosphorus, sodium, zinc, copper, vitamin C, thiamine, riboflavin etc.

These are the various health benefits of the intake of pili nuts.

By consuming pili nuts, the risk of getting heart disease gets lowered and heart health could be maintained well. The omega 3 fatty acids in pili nuts play an important role.

It is believed that the anti-inflammatory properties of pili nuts could reduce inflammatory conditions like arthritis, gout, etc. Removal of free radicals that could cause damage to the tissues and cells is done by vitamin C in pili nuts. Hence the chances of inflammation are less.
