The officials of the Government Department of Fisheries have issued a warning to the fishermen that those who are at sea must return immediately return ashore.
Fishermen belonging to the Chennai Metro City, Thiruvallur, and Kanchipuram take-up fishing exercise at the Kasimode fishing port by taking trawling boats into the deep-sea areas.
Recently, the cyclonic format Bulbul has developed over the Bay of Bengal. The Department of Fisheries has warned that this cyclone is likely to intensify further and hence fishermen must not venture into the sea tomorrow and the day after (9th and 10th November).
Further, the fishermen who have already ventured into the sea must return ashore immediately. This is announced from yesterday (Thursday, 7th November) through the walkie-talkie medium from the office of the Assistance Director of fisheries/fishing.
A warning is being issued at the Kasinode fishing port with loudspeakers on mobile auto-rickshaws warning the fishermen not to venture into the sea.
