The new district of Kallakkurichi, 34th district of the state of Tamil Nadu is being officially created today (Tuesday, 26th November).
The erstwhile Villupuram district has been bifurcated and the new district of Kallakkurichi has been formed. This district, with Kallakurichi as headquarters, will have 2 revenue zones, 6 revenue circles, 3 police (sub-inspector) offices, 3 district education offices, 6 legislative assembly constituencies, and a single parliamentary constituency seat.
The inaugural function of the formation of new Kallakurichi district is being organised today (Tuesday, 26th September). Tamil Nadu Chief Minister E. Palaniswamy inaugurates to the official start of the new Kallakurichi district.
