There would be heavy spells of rains in the city of Chennai in this weekend as the wind and cloud conditions have started to become favourable for rains.
The important information revealed by the weather bloggers and meteorological department now is the rains that might begin in this weekend in Chennai city, its suburbs and it might continue in the first week of December. Throughout the afternoon on Tuesday, the sky was cloudy and there was mild drizzle in some places in Chennai.
It has been predicted by the meteorological department for the next 24 hours that the condition of the sky is likely to be cloudy generally and light rains are likely to occur in some places.
From 28th November, NE monsoon and easterly winds would get activated and because of this, there would be moderate rains with one or two heavy spells of rains in many parts of the state of TN and in Chennai between 28th November and 2nd December. It is said that this would be one of the heaviest spells of rains in November in Chennai and in TN.
Information collected in places like Kancheepuram, Puducherry, Pamban, Karaikal, Nagapattinam and Thanjavur might get good rainfall. In places such as Madurai, Coimbatore and Nilgiris, there might be scattered rainfall. Many parts belonging to the Chennai city and the suburbs of Chennai would have water logging due to the rains and there would be heavy traffic congestion. This was mentioned by Skymet.
