A new exciting facility in Chennai Metro Rail - free Wi-Fi - movie-watching!

Chennai Metro Rail is all set to introduce another exciting facility for its passengers - the facility to watch movies while travelling through the free Wi-Fi.
Presently, the Chennai Metro Rail is operating in 2 corridors - Chennai Airport-Washermanpet and St. Thomas Mount-Chennai Central Station.
Chennai Metro Rail has been taking all the initiatives to keep adding facilities for its passengers.
Earlier, the signal was not available in the sections Egmore-Central and DMS-Washermanpet for mobile communication. To appease the discontented passengers in this regard, the free Wi-Fi facility is set to be introduced in all the Metro Stations along with the signal facility.
A Chennai Metro official shared in this regard:
‘More than 1 Lakh passengers travel daily in Chennai Metro Rail. Action is in progress to introduce signal facility wherever it is not presently available. Apart from this, free Wi-Fi facility is also being introduced. With this, all the smartphone users can watch movies and songs in languages including Tamil, English, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada.
It is a noteworthy and a proud record that this facility is being in introduced for the 1st time in India. With this facility, a movie can be downloaded in 5 minutes. This facility can be availed while travelling in the Chennai Metro Rail or in the Chennai Metro Rail Stations. A special App has been created for this.
It is being reviewed regarding the date of launch for this facility either during December or during the Pongal festival.’
