Prospects for heavy rain in Chennai for the next 2 days!

The Director of the Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre Puviyarasan informed that there are prospects for heavy rains in 10 districts in the state of Tamil Nadu due to the cyclonic format developed in the upper layers of the atmosphere.

He explained the press further that there are prospects for heavy rains on 1st and 2nd December in the coastal areas of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. There are strong prospects for heavy rain in the next 2 days in the Chennai Metro City.

He informed that there are prospects for very heavy rains in 10 districts of Cuddalore, Nagappattinam, Thanjavur, Thiruvarur, Ariyalur, Pudhullottai, Svagangai, Ramanathapuram, Thoothukkudi, and Tirunelveli.

As cyclonic winds will be blowing across the ocean, he warned that the fishermen belonging to the areas of Bay of Bengal, Kanyakumari Ocean area and the Maldives must not venture into the sea for 2 days.

The rainfall recorded in the last 24 hours: A maximum rainfall of 12 cm has been recorded in the Cuddalore district Kattumannarkoil and Thanjavur district Keezhaanai. Rainfall in cm in other places: Mayiladuthurai - 8, Jayankondam and Manalmedu - 7.

Ariyalur had recorded a rainfall of 275.6 mm from 1st October till yesterday Thursday, 28th November).

The Chennai Metro City has recorded a rainfall of 387.9 mm and Coimbatore, 378.1 mm.

In the next 24 hours, the maximum temperature will be 31 Degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature will be 25 Degrees Celsius.
