Central Transport ministry plan - Vehicle registration-cell phone link to be mandatory!

The central ministry of transport has decided to link the cell phone details with the vehicle registration process.
More than 25 Crores vehicles are operating in the country.
The personal details of the vehicle driver are to be furnished for obtaining a vehicle registration certificate, driver’s licence, etc. All these related details are collected and kept in the vehicle registration ledger created and maintained by the central ministry of transport.
It was ascertained that the cell-phone details were not entered in most vehicles.
Subsequently, the central ministry of transport has planned to make the entry of the cell phone number details mandatory for the vehicle owners especially for issuing vehicle registration, Pollution Control Certificate, renewal of the licence, etc.
