If any important work for the benefit of the public is carried out fast then the public would feel happy.

Chennai Corporation has been carrying out the shelter work at the Puzhuthivakkam bus stand at a slow pace and this has angered many residents.

About 3 months back, Sholinganallur MLA Mr Arvind Ramesh grabbed many eyeballs when he inaugurated the construction of shelter at this bus stand. At that time, it was said that the residents call for shelter at this bus stand seems answered. It is important to note that for the past year no MTC bus has entered this bus stand because of the parking of metro water tankers. Important information is buses stop on the MRTS Road about half a km from the bus stand.

The frequent trips made by the water tankers to the filling stations inside the bus stand have damaged the access roads. A resident of Mandeveli Street expressed his thoughts and said that the authorities have been informed about the frequency of water tankers and they were requested to regulate the movement of water tankers.

It was later revealed by an engineer belonging to zone 14 (Perungudi)that they had intended to resolve the problem by means of the compound wall inside the bus stand. He hinted about the separate ingress and egress points for the tankers. Under MLA funds, the civic body took up the project is known.

It must be taken into account that MTC had already written to the metro water department officials about regulating parking of water tankers. Till the issue gets solved, MTC would continue to operate buses from MRTS Road.  It is known that Puzhuthivakkam has become the part of Chennai Corporation after expansion and is one of the southern neighbourhoods in Chennai. It must be noted that Puzhuthivakkam is close to the suburbs of Velachery, Adambakkam, Madipakkam etc.
