Reduction in Darshan time at Sabarimala Lord Ayyappa Temple on 26th and 27th December!

Due to the scheduled ‘Solar Eclipse Mandala Poojas’ to be performed, the duration of the ‘Ghee Abhishekham’ event is being reduced on 26th and 27th of December.

So, the devotees are advised to plan their trips accordingly.

The mandala kalam’ in Sabarimala Lord Ayyaappa temple is approaching the conclusion part.

To have the Darshan of Lord Ayyappa in the last 2 days, the timing of the Ghee Abhishekham event has been changed.

On 26th December, the temple corridors will be opened by early morning 3.00 AM starting with the Ghee Abhishekham event which will continue until 6.45 AM. After this, ‘Usha Poojai’ will be performed.

Due to the solar eclipse on this day, the temple corridors will be closed at 7.30 AM. The solar eclipse will be over by 11.13 AM.

Subsequently, the temple corridors will open at 11.30 AM. Ghee Abhishekham event will be performed for an hour.

After performing ‘Ucha Pooja’, the corridors will be closed at 2.00 PM.

The temple corridors will be open again by 5.00 PM. The Dewaswom Board members will start for Sarankuthi to receive the ‘golden angi’ (upper cloth).

At 6.30 PM, the golden angi will be adorned on the deity of Lord Ayyappa and Deeparadhana will be performed. Only after this, Darshan will be allowed.

After the conclusion of the solar eclipse and the Ucha Pooja performance, the devotees will be allowed to climb the 18 temple steps (with the temple corridors closed) until 4.30 PM.

On 27th December, the temple corridors will be opened at early morning at 3.00 AM.

Ghee Abhishkekham will be performed until 9.30 AM.

Subsequently, Mandala Pooja activities will commence. Kumba Rasi Mandala Pooja will be performed between 10.00 AM to 11.40 AM.

The temple corridors will be closed at 1.00 PM.

It will be opened again at 4.00 PM  and then closed by 10.00 PM. Thus, the 41-days Mandala Kalam will draw to a close.
