There have been huge crowds gathering around the stall set up by Indian Railways at the Tourist Exhibition currently in the Chennai Islands Grounds to take ‘selfie’.

The 46th India Tourism Industrial Fair is in progress at the Chennai Metro City Islands grounds on behalf of the Tamil Nadu Tourism Corporation from 22nd December.

In this, the Southern railways have set up a stall for Indian Railways with details and items regarding the pride, achievements, the development projects, etc. with photographs and other displays.

Models of the old and traditional steam engines, coaches, and wagons are on display. Especially, the display of the steam engine operating, coaches being taken on battery, etc., is great attractions for the crowds. The Pamban bridge operating, opening and closing as ships arrive, is another major attraction!

The most prominent attraction is the operation of the Ooty (Nilgiris Mountain) train. People of all age-groups gather here to take ‘selfie’! As such, there is a swirling crowd in this section. The Southern Railway General Manager John Thomas visited the stall yesterday (Sunday, 29th December) and inspected.
