Other avenues of top-up FASTag account permitted (apart from banks)

Reserve Bank of India has granted permission for topping up the FASTag payment top-ups through other avenues as well apart from the banks.
It may be noted that FASTag payment system is mandatory from 15th January.
Presently, all the banks have been selling FASTag stickers to be stuck on the vehicle front. The payment for this is taken directly or through the bank accounts.
In this scenario, there is an additional facility - the FASTag amount can be topped up through other pre-paid payment accounts apart from UPI or banks. The mode of accepting topping up FASTag through UPI has already been implemented.
As the next step in this regard, it is gathered that permissions will be granted as above for making payments at vehicle parking lots, filling up fuel, etc.!
