Increase in the prices of Vaikunta Ekadasi tickets at Sri Parthasarathy Temple

The date 6th of January 2020 is very important for the Hindus because on this day only Vaikunta Ekadasi falls.

Every year on this special day Vaikunta Ekadasi darshan would take place in the famous Triplicane based Sri Parthasarathy Temple. The news that has emerged out is the temple administration has increased the rates of the tickets for this darshan on 6th January.

It is important to note that till last year the darshan ticket was Rs 300 and this year the rate has been increased to Rs 500. After producing Aadhaar card copies, the darshan tickets would be issued to the devotees on Friday from 1 pm.

As per the press release from the temple administration, it is clear that each person would be issued one ticket only on payment. Important point is only those with Rs 500 tickets or badges would be allowed inside the temple at 2:30 am through the West Gopuram (Narasimhar Sannidhi) to witness the Utsavamurthy of Sri Parthasarathy being brought to the mandapam plus the opening of Swarga Vaasal. After 4:30 am, the free entry would be allowed through East Gopuram.

It is known that this Triplicane Sri Parthasarathy Temple was built in the 8th century by Pallavas and it is dedicated to Lord Vishnu.
