The news from the meteorological department is sky condition is likely to be generally cloudy in Chennai and light rains are likely to occur in some places. Chennai would get light rains inspite of the fact that monsoon has ended.
Around 9 pm on Sunday, 5th January, Chennai received short and intense rains in some places are known. Puddles have been created by the intense rains in Chennai in many places and as a result of this, the pedestrians have been finding it difficult.
The conditions continue to be conductive for rains and this was mentioned by an official belonging to the meteorological department. He added that monsoon is getting extended now and it might delay the proper onset of winter. Important point is Chennai already had 2 days of fog.
For the next 2 days in the places such as Kancheepuram, Tiruvallur and Chennai, there would be rains. This was as per the Chennai based popular weather blogger Mr. Pradeep John.
He added that the temperature would be warmer till 8th January and after that there would be some drop in the temperature. He concluded that the maximum temperature would be hovering around 30 degrees Celsius to 31 degrees Celsius.
