For reaching Pongal special buses starting points, 310 link-local buses will operate in Chennai Metro city (24 hours)!

310 special additional link buses will be operated for the Pongal occasion travelling passengers to reach their Pongal special buses starting point throughout 24 hours.

A notification released by the Chennai Metro City transport Corporation in this regard:

‘For the grand festive occasion of Pongal, to facilitate the passengers travelling to their native places for this occasion, special buses are being operated  on 10th, 11th, 12th, 13th, and 14th January- 16075 buses from Chennai Metro City to other places, and 9905 buses from other districts  - will be operated.

In order that this Pongal travel rush should not disturb the Chennai Metro City regular traffic, the special buses to various places are to start from 5 different locations – Madhavaram suburban bus terminus, Tambaram New bus terminus (MEPZ),  Tambaram Bus Terminus near the Railway Staton, Poonamallee Bus terminus, MGR Bus terminus Koyambedu, and KK Nagar Bus Terminus.

In order to facilitate the above travelling public to reach the above 5 different bus terminus locations, the Chennai Metro City Transport Corporation will operate an additional 310 buses on 12th, 13th, and 14th January for 3 days right through 24 hours.

36 buses will operate to Madhavaram Bus terminus. 106 buses will operate to Tambaram (MEPZ)  and Tambaram Station. 72 buses will operate toPoonamalle Bus terminus. 23 buses will operate to KK Nagar Bus Terminus. 73 buses will operate to Koyambedu MGR Bus terminus.
