Closely following last week’s earthquake in China, a 5.7 magnitude earthquake hit Afghanistan on Wednesday. The US Geological Survey said that the epicenter was 16 miles from Jalalabad, deep within the earth, around 40 miles. However, no casualties or damages were reported.

The tremors were felt as far as New Delhi, where buildings shook. In Kashmir’s northern region, people came running out of the buildings. Tremors were also felt in Islamabad. It can be recollected that a high magnitude earthquake hit the POK (Pakistan Occupied Kashmir) region in 2005 killing around 75000 people.

China’s earthquake last week measured 6.6 on the Richter scale and killed around 200 people.
