Tirupathi Lord Srinivasa Temple - Free Laddus - 1 to each devotee from tomorrow!

1 free laddu will be given to each devotee having Darshan of Lord Srinivasa at the Tirupathi temple from tomorrow (Tuesday, 21st January).

The sacred ‘prasadam’ (offering to the Lord) of Tirupathi Laddu is globally hugely popular.

Until now, for the devotees having Darshan of Lord Srinivasa in all modes – free Darshan, Divya Darisanam, and Sarva Darisanam – 4 Laddus were being sold at subsidised rates. However, for the devotees who come by foot climbing the mountain all the way for the Darshan of Lord Srinivasa, 1 free laddu was being offered.

In this situation, the new scheme of offering 1 free laddu to each devotee is set to be implemented from tomorrow (Tuesday, 21st January).

The Additional Executive officer of TTD (Tirumalai Tirupathi Devasthanam) shared in this regard:

‘For the devotees having Darshan of Lord Srinivasa at the famous Tirupathi temple, the ‘prasadam’ (edible items offered to the Lord Srinivasa during a pooja) such as  a small laddu of 25 grams or sweet Pongal or pi=uliyodharai was being given every day.

Further, for the devotees visiting by travelling on foot via the mountain to have Darshan of Lord Srinivasa on Divya Darisanam ticket, 1- free laddu weighing 175 grams worth Rs. 40/-.

Accordingly, 1-free laddu was be3ing given to to 20000 devotees every day. In this situation. During a review meeting conducted by TTD on 28th December, a decision was taken to give 1-free laddu to each devotee having Darshan of Lord Srinivasa.

On an average around 60000 to 70000 devotees have Darshan during the weekdays and on Saturdays, Sundays, and festival holidays, 1round 1 Lakh devotees have Darshan.

As such, all devotees having Darshan through various avenues such as free Darshan, Sarva Darisanam, Divya Darisanam, and Arjitha Seva (tickets), will be given 1-free Laddu worth Rs. 40 and weighing 175 gram.

Devotees who need more laddus can visit the counter located outside the temple and can buy an unlimited number of laddus at Rs. 50 per laddu.

Already there were 4 separate sales counters for this purpose. As such, this has now been increased to 12 counters. Action has been taken to produce 4 lakhs laddus every day in order that the devotees do not face any difficulties in buying the same!’
