For the sake of studying the education model that has been followed in the schools in TN and to know other aspects of schooling, a delegation representing Ministry of Malaysia visited 2 government schools in Chennai on Tuesday.
Tamil schools are present in the Seremban District, Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia and it is now revealed that the delegation comprised of headmasters of these schools and district education officials. They had made their presence felt in the MGR Nagar based Government Higher Secondary school and in the Ashok Nagar based Government Girls Higher Secondary School.
According to Mr Arumai Nayagam, DEO, Seremban district, Malaysia, the teaching methodologies used in the classrooms in Chennai schools would be taken into consideration. He added that the teachers in the government schools use a lot of teaching aid as well as interactive activities and wanted those to be implemented in the schools in Malaysia also. Later, he mentioned how he had seen many online posts about the government schools in TN and the various innovative methods used in the classrooms and how these have created huge enthusiasm. It is clear that these have made them visit various government schools in TN.
The government schools have been adopting technology such as ‘DIKSHA’ platform to upload video lessons. This was highly appreciated by the Malaysian delegates.
Mr Krishnan Perumal, headmaster association leader from Seremban district, spoke about the new techniques adopted in the government schools in TN and how he wanted to introduce in the Tamil schools in Malaysia.
