On Thursday, 23rd January 2020, in Chennai, Tata Motors latest offering Altroz were released and it caught the attention of many.
The premium hatchback segment is the fastest-growing category in the small car segment and this was Tata Motors first offering in this segment.
Tata Altroz (compliant with BS-6 emission norms) would compete with other cars like Baleno and Hyundai i20 etc. Beginning from Rs 5.29 lakhs, the petrol variant of the car goes all the way up to Rs 7.76 lakhs. The price for the diesel variant of this Tata Altroz varies from Rs 6.99 lakhs to Rs 9.29 lakhs.
Three different car models like Tata Nexon (starting from Rs 6.95 lakhs), Tata Tiago( Rs 4.60 lakhs), Tata Tigor (Rs 5.75 lakhs) were also released along with Tata Altroz in the same event. By this, Tata Motors or TaMo became the first manufacturers to release 4 models in the single event. Tata Altroz became the second car in India to get a 5-star safety rating for adult protection in global NCAP crash tests. After the launch, Tata Motors is hoping that its market share would increase. In the past few years, the hatchback segment has grown from about 9% to 24%.
