On the occasion of Republic Day tomorrow (26th January, Sunday), the Governor of Tamil Nadu State Panwarilal Purohit will hoist the national flag at the Marina Beach near the Gandhi statue.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister will distribute the awards for deeds of bravery and valour.
Republic Day is to be celebrated throughout the country tomorrow with great enthusiasm and verve.
As such, all special arrangements are being made for a grand celebration of the Republic Day in Tamil Nadu as well!
The Governor of Tamil Nadu will hoist the National Flag at 8.00 AM in Marina Beach near the Gandhi Statue. He will oversee the grand Republic Day Parade and acknowledge the same. During this period, an arrangement has been made for an IAF (Indian Airforce) helicopter to fly over the spot to shower flowers on the hoisted national flag!
Subsequently, the spectacular parades will be on display from 8.02 AM.
Then the special Republic Day parades 48 groups of the service personnel will start - Indian Air Force, Navy, Army, and women Police, Commando Police, Fire-fighting squads, Ex-military personnel, NCC (National Cadet Corps) Students.
The Governor will be on a special podium receiving the parade and acknowledging the same.
Once the parade sessions get completed, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister will distribute the Awards/Prizes for deeds of bravery and valour (Anna Medal), Fort Ameer secular Coordination Medal, and Mahatma Gandhi Police medals.
Chief Minister E. Palaniswmy will confer the best production agriculturist Award for Rs. 5 Lakhs to the best farmer with maximum yield.
Subsequently, the cultural programmes by school/college students (boys and girls) and the village folk art performances will be conducted.
Following this, the parade of squads from the Tamil Nadu State Government - Information and Public Relations Department, Police Department, Agricultural Department, School Education Department, Tourism Department, Public Welfare Department, Handloom Department, etc. - will take place.
Once all the parades and Award distribution functions are over, National Anthem will be played marking the end of the celebrations. The Governor and the Chief Minister will depart from the special stage.
On this special Republic Day Celebrations, High Court Chief Justice, the Judges, Deputy Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam, the ministers, Members of parliament, and the Members of the e Legislative Assembly, all IAS cadre officers, the Public celebrities, and a lot of others will participate!
Deployment of 1.20 Lakhs Police Staff for security
On the occasion of the Republic Day, 1.20 Lakhs personnel of Police Staff are being deployed for safety/security during the celebrations throughout the state of Tamil Nadu.
15000 Police Personnel are deployed in the Chennai Metro City alone. The Police have been on roving/monitoring duty at important public-gathering locations such as Airport, Railway Stations, Bus Stations, etc. All the vehicles entering Chennai are allowed to enter only after a thorough check!
