Pressing on various demands including salary revision, around 10 Lakhs bank employees will be on strike for 2-days from 31st January.
Emphasising on the 12-point demand including upward salary revision and 5-days work-week, the bank employees will go on strike for 2 days on 31st January and 1st February throughout the country.
The General Secretary of the All India Bank Employees Union, C. H. Venkatachalam, informed:
‘The India Banks Association had informed that if the stroke is withdrawn, it would be ready for negotiations. However, we requested immediate discussions to find solutions to the issues raised. But, so far, the India Bank Association has not replied on this issue. So, the proposal to go on 2-days strike gets confirmed.
9 unions are participating in this strike including the All India Bank Employees Union All India Bank Officers’ Association, and India Bank Employees Federation.’
