Cleansing the Paravathamaai Thiruvannamalai district Collector - MLA participates!

The temple of Lord Sri Mallikarjunar along with His Consort Goddess Brahmarambikai Thayar is located atop the 4500’ high mountain ‘Parvatahmalai’ situated near the village of Thenmahadevamangalam adjacent to Kalasapakkam in the district of Thiruvannamalai.
There is a circular path around the mountain for undertaking ‘Girivalam’ or a praying trip around the mountain.
However, the devotees who visit this place to undertake ‘Girivalam’ tend to throw away the waste materials including plastic items strewn all around and all over the ’Parvatahamalai’.
The district collector of Thiruvannamalai, K. S. Kandaswamy took the initiative to clean the mountain along with a team of volunteers.
The ‘Clean Kalasapakkam Movement’ members, Green Movement members, social enthusiasts, Nature lovers, school/college students, youth in the area and the local public all joined to form 1500-members strong squad ready to join and undertake the effort to clean the mountain from 6.30 AM.
The Kalasapakkam Constituency MLA V. Panneerselvam and other party officials also participated in this ‘Parvatahamalai’ cleansing endeavour!
