On Wednesday, 12th February, TNPSC had announced that certificate verification for Group-4 examinations would be conducted on 19th February 2020. This was after removing the tainted candidates from the selection list.
It must not be forgotten that many complaints were made by the candidates and TNPSC unearthed a major scam. As per the scam, the answer sheets of candidates who appeared in Rameswaram and Keelakari centres of Ramanathapuram district tampered.
Pens with special evaporating ink were given to the candidates and their answer sheets were later filled with the correct answers on the moving vehicle. As a result, as many as 99 candidates have been banned for life by the commission and 39 candidates whose names figured in the top 100 rank holders were removed from the selection list.
As per the release from TNPSC, it is clear that original certificates verification would be conducted on 19th February at TNPSC office at VOC Nagar in Chennai. This would be to verify the genuineness of candidates claim made in their online application about their age, qualification, communities and to fill up the vacancies. From 13th February to 18th February, uploading of the certificates would be done. Formed in the year 1929, TNPSC is the successor of Madras Service Commission.
