Many students would have dreamt about meeting ISRO based scientists etc and this would come true soon.
It is now revealed that the TN School Education Department had instructed all the schools to encourage and facilitate students to apply for ‘Young Scientist Programme 2020’ launched by ISRO or Indian Space Research Organisation. The students would be informed about the programme in the assembly hours and this was as per the directions given by the school education department.
To make more students show interest in space activities, YUVIKA or Yuva Vigyani Karyakram was started in 2019. Till 60m on 24th February 2019, online registrations would be opened for the students. Various advantages of this programme are the students could meet scientists at different ISRO centres, visit their labs plus take part in the lectures and practical classes etc. From 11th to 22nd May 2020, this programme would take place at any one of the ISRO/DOS centres in places like Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Shillong and Trivandrum etc. Three students from each state and union territory would be chosen and there would be 5 additional seats reserved for Overseas Citizen of India. The ISRO guest houses and hostels would provide accommodation for the selected students and travel costs would be covered also.
