A special camp was organised by the Police Department day-before-yesterday (Sunday, 16th February) at the Chennai Housing development Corporations Residential complex at Velacherry.

The members of the Welfare Association of the complex and other residents shared in this camp:

There are more than 80 streets and more than 5000 houses here in this complex. As vehicles are parked at the street-side and open spaces, there are frequent disputes! The point to worry is that even stolen vehicles are parked here.  Immediate action must be taken on this.

Speed-breakers must be set-up on the streets with turns to prevent accidents. The movement of the heavy-duty vehicles in this area must be controlled. Surveillance cameras must be installed to prevent robberies.

The Traffic Police Analyst Sam Bennett shared:

Cooperation will be extended to the Welfare Association Members’ who promised to put stickers on the vehicles in this residential complex.  Legal actions will be taken on the illegal parking of vehicles in a week. Speed-breakers will be installed at the required locations to avoid over-speeding. Timing will be allotted for the heavy-duty vehicles to pass.’

The Police of the Law and Discipline shared: ‘The residents should extend their full cooperation to nab narcotic consumers! Activities will be initiated to install surveillance cameras!
