Caution: Please be cautious of fraudsters while carrying out UPI Transactions! Note that you will never be asked for a PIN for money to be credited to your bank account!
Be careful to avoid fraud requests by doing these 3 things before you accept!
- STOP - before entering your PIN!
- THINK - Why do you need a PIN to receive money?!
- ACT - by declining the request if you suspect fraud!
How do the fraudsters access your account?
- Fraudsters will send a ‘collect’ request on the pretext of making a payment using the UPI App.
- This request on the App has 2 options: ‘Pay’ or ‘Decline’.
- Customers think they will receive funds and hence proceed to click ‘Pay’ option on the UPI app.
- Once the UPI PIN is punched in, the money is successfully transferred to the fraudster’s account!
