At the same time, coronavirus has affected countries like Iran and Italy to the worst extent! In India, the number of persons affected by coronavirus has increased to 74! Out of these, 56 are Indians and rest, foreigners.

Both the central and the state governments have initiated various precautionary activities to control the spread of coronavirus!

Meanwhile, around a lakh of devotees gather daily at the famous Tirupathi temple to have Darshan of Lord Venkateswara. As the number of devotees is quite large, it is well nigh impossible to allow space between 1 person and the other (due to the jostling crowd)! However, this gives an increase in the scope of being affected by this virus!

As such, the Thirumalai Tirupathi Devasthanam Board (TTD) had announced that in case of the foreign resident Indians or those who visited abroad and returns or the foreign visitors; they can visit the Tirupathi temple only after 28 days after their arrival in India.

In this scenario, TTD has now announced that due to the coronavirus generated panic, the devotees who had booked Darshan tickets earlier can now cancel the reservation. The Darshan tickets booked up to the end of May can cancel the Rs. 300 Darshan tickets online. TTD has further informed that the facility to change the date of Darshan has also been provided online.

TTD has emphasised that these activities have been initiated mainly due to the coronavirus panic and preventing its spreading especially as Tirupathi is always teeming with a large crowd of jostling devotees. Also, TTD has advised that devotees having complaints such as fever, headache, cold/cough and other symptoms to please avoid entering the temple for Darshan! It may be noted that the devotees interested in quicker Darshan with less waiting time buy the Rs. 300 Darshan ticket.
