New launch Chalo App: A boon to the Chennai Metro City MTC passengers!

It is rather usual to find visitors to the Chennai Metro City struggling to travel within the city from one place to another. As it is new, visitors encounter lots of hardships selecting and travelling in the MTC (Metropolitan Transport Corporation). Why-Not only the outsiders! But even Chennai Metro City residents themselves encounter frequent problems in locating the right MTC bus and travel!
In order to solve this rather important issue, a new cell phone App ‘Chalo’ has been launched! This App has a whole lot of special features.
Each feature being outstanding, it would be immensely useful indeed!
With Chalo App, it would be possible to track MTC buses on the phone itself!
In other words, just as it is possible to track Ola and Uber cab/auto/bike services, it would now be possible to track the government MTC buses as well!
This App gives details of the nearest bus stop. Further, you get the details of the next 5 MTC buses arriving at that stop as well!
Further, the timings of the buses on specific routes can also be accessed through this Chalo App! Apart from this Chalo will provide the details of the bus stops in a specific route. Let us take the example of the MTC bur route 570 - Kelambakkam - Koyambedu CMBT: we can access the list of bus stops on this route.
With the help of Chalo App live Map, the passengers looking for a specific bus roué can access the location of this bus at that moment! In case one bus is selected in this App, the info when that next particular bus arrives at the bus stop can be accessed! This facility operated based on GPS.
Another major confusion regarding the MTC buses even among the Chennai Metro City Residents is the Route Numbers!
Unlike cities like Madurai or Coimbatore, MTC buses are operated in more than 650 routes in the Chennai Metro City! So, it is indeed a challenge to remember the route numbers! However, the App Chalo resolves this issue as well! Through Chalo App, we can access the list of buses plying between two specific places!
Example: Suppose you are in T Nagar. You need to go to Nanganallur! If you enter these details in the Chalo App search-box, you would get an immediate reply!
Thus, there is no need to be in a hurry to catch the bus hereafter! Similarly, there is no necessity to wait for long hours at bus stops. Instead, you can calculate the time required to reach the nearest MTC bus stop and start from the office/residence accordingly!
There is a total l of 3300 MTC buses. Out of these, over 90% of buses have been installed with GPS devices and brought within the range of this Chalo App.
Depending on the popular response, this facility will be expanded to accommodate the remaining buses as well!
With this Chalo App option available, it is now expected that the passengers would have more desire to travel on MTC buses rather than cabs or shared autos! Naturally, this development will yield more revenue for the state government!
