Traffic congestion has been creating many issues for the people of Chennai are well known. Many efforts are being taken to ease the traffic congestion in Chennai.
Rajiv Gandhi Road in Chennai is also known as IT corridor because it has got many IT companies. Traffic congestion is heavy in this area. It is now revealed that 5 flyovers would be built at important junctions between Taramani and Siruseri. An amount of Rs 500 crores would be spent for this.
Various places where these 5 flyovers would be making their presence felt in the future are Taramani Road Junction, Perungudi MGR Road junction, Thoraipakkam Road Junction, Sholinganallur Road Junction and Siruseri Road Junction. This was according to the chief minister of TN, Mr. E. Palaniswami.
An amount of Rs 350 crores would be spent for six- laned at the OMR from Siruseri to Mahabalipuram. It is known that at OMR from Madhya Kailash to Siruseri road is six-laned and the remaining distance of 14.8 km would also be six-laned along with service roads.
The chief minister later spoke about how an amount of Rs 531 crores would be spent on the fourth section of Chennai Peripheral Road from Sriperumbudur to Singapermumal Koil for the construction of vehicular subway, improvement of flyovers and enhancement of road safety etc.
