Food Safety Department instruction; wash tea glasses with hot water/soap oil

As a part of the ongoing various coronavirus prevention activities, the Department of Food Safety has imposed a new regulation to all the tea shops in the Chennai Metro City.

The nervous reaction regarding coronavirus has just initiated in the Chennai Metro City only now!

A person has affected with coronavirus in Tamil Nadu 2 weeks ago. He was from Kanchipuram who had returned after a foreign trip. He was treated and he recovered fully well within 3 days.

Subsequently, another person has been affected by Coronavirus. As such, various precautionary activities are in progress in the state of Tamil Nadu.

As a 1st Phase, the state government has ordered the closure of all schools, colleges, and commercial complexes. The state government has been taking the initiative that there are no large gatherings in public places.

In this situation, the officials from the Food Safety Department conducted inspections in tea shops this morning (Thursday, 19th March). Subsequently, the department of food safety has issued the following regulations/procedures to be adopted in tea/food shops:

Tea glasses must be washed with soap oil.

In case tea master is affected with fever, he must be taken immediately for medical check/treatment.

The big hotels and star hotels must keep their kitchen utensils sparkling clean.

All the chairs and tables in the tea stalls must be regularly cleaned with disinfectants.

Customers to tea shops must be given soap to wash their hands.

Further, the visitors to the food shops must be made aware regarding the preventive activities, how to go ahead, how to wash hands, etc.
