The District Election Commission Officer Prakash has informed that in order to correct personal details in the voter`s list, one can visit the staff at the concerned Regional Voter Registration Offices or visiting the website and correct/check online or calling the toll-free number.

The final voters’ list for the 16 Legislative Assembly Constituencies under Chennai District was released on 4th February as per the Special Sorter Correction process.
Subsequently, the public continues to avail of the facilities to carry out the correction of details. So, in case interested in making corrections, one needs to approach the concerned Regional Register Office staff or carry out corrections online www.nvsp.in or by calling the toll-free number 1950.
In case there are corrections, there are specific application forms to fill and submit. The corrections, as per the applications submitted above, will be checked by the field officers who visit the places and confirm after which the corrections will be uploaded. As it is clear through the explanation that the entire operation is through computers, the list of the corrected voters’ list will be released during the special short correction process.
Further, as per the order released by the Indian Election Commission, the activity of issuing the new voter ID cards replacing the old ones has also been undertaken. So, this will not apply to voters who already have new voter IDs.
For those who have received the new voter ID card, SMS will be sent to the mobile numbers furnished. The voter ID card will be distributed by the Polling Booth Officer and the receipt/acceptance of the new voter ID will be taken from the concerned family members.
