Due to the coronavirus scare, 3 out of the 7 gates in Chennai Egmore railway station have been closed. The passengers are allowed in only after the thermal scanning test. Trains to the southern Tamil Nadu Districts Tirunelveli, Kanyakumari, etc., are operated from the Chennai Metro City Egmore Railway Station.
So, the station always appears busy and hyperactive. In this situation, due to the coronavirus scare, 3 out of the 7 gates in the Railway Stations have been closed. The passengers are allowed in only after the thermal scanner check.
Further, the Railway Police, under the leadership of Egmore Railway DSP Edward and Inspector Thomas, is making the public aware of the coronavirus!

As a large number of passengers arrive at Egmore Station, and it was too difficult to check all of them, 3 gates of the railway station have been closed. Further, the Railway Police, jointly with the State Government Health Department, carry out the 24-hours coronavirus checks. In case the symptoms are detected, the concerned passengers will be immediately taken to the hospital after informing the Health Department. RPF, Railway Police, and the Health Department are jointly operating this.
