TN shuts borders with AP, Kerala and Karnataka due to more home quarantine cases

On Thursday, the number of home quarantine cases was 3481 and on Friday the number of home quarantine cases shot up to 4253.

This has made TN to virtually shut its borders with neighbouring states like Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and Karnataka now. It is worthy to mention here that 2 Coronavirus that were confirmed positive continued to recover in the hospital. The test result of a 65-year-old man admitted in a private hospital waits now. The number of patients in TN hospitals having signs of Covid-19 has come down from 39 on Thursday to 32 now.

From 21st March to 31st March the state government of TN has said that in addition to the ambulances only those vehicles carrying essential goods like milk, vegetables, petrol/diesel, medicines and LPG cylinders would be allowed to cross the borders of AP, Kerala and Karnataka. Vehicles carrying people with personnel emergencies like death etc would also be allowed. For the mobility of the public, limited running of the government buses would be permitted and all the passengers would be scanned for Covid -19.

It was pointed out by the state health minister, Mr C. Vijayabaskar that health condition of 2 young Covid-10 positive patients admitted in RGGGH Chennai are stable now. At present, the total number of samples drawn from those who had symptoms of Covid-19 is 333. The health minister explained how there is an additional lab located in Salem for testing the samples and how it was the fifth lab in TN.
