The Tamil Nadu State Government Department of School Education has strictly warned that the private schools should not conduct any special classes! Any violation would invite stringent action.
As is well-known, all the schools have been closed to prevent coronavirus from spreading. As such, except for the +1 & +2 Public Examinations, no other classes must be conducted as an order.
In this regard, some complaints were received by the State School Education Department that some private matriculation schools are conducting special classes for their students!
In this regard, the Director of the School Education Board, Kannappan, has released a strict order to all the Primary Education Officers. He has mentioned:
All the schools must extend wholehearted cooperation in the preventive activities against coronavirus. Though all private and government schools have been closed as a preventive measure, complaints are being received that certain private schools are secretly indulging in conducting special coaching classes for their students!
The Primary Education Officers must immediately warn these schools that stringent action will be taken on these schools if caught. The license to run the school will be permanently revoked and further, criminal action will be initiated on the school administrators under the Infectious Diseases Act.
The private schools and their administrations will need to act with the primary objective of keeping the students safe and alive. The teachers must also behave with high responsibility. All of us are aware we are facing a challenging situation with the impending disaster which must be prevented with all efforts. So, all concerned must extend their wholehearted cooperation.
In a similar action, the college classes and examinations have also been canceled. The Director for College Education, Jothi Venkatesan has sent a circular stating that all private colleges must also act as per the government order!
