Many across the world are having fears regarding rapidly spreading Coronavirus. The number of Covid-19 cases has been increasing steadily in TN and in Chennai.

Following the threat of Covid-19 infection, resident welfare associations in many apartment complexes have issued advisories. It must be noted that some apartments in Chennai have framed strict rules for their residents.

In the Mandaveli based Dwaraka complex with 6 flats, gates remained locked all day and one of their security staff was sent on leave. In addition to this, the domestic helpers have been given leave. In the numbered baskets kept at the gate, everything from milk to courier items must be dropped. This was as per a resident of this Dwaraka complex.

It was pointed out by Sobha Murrieta Owners Association managing committee members that hand washes, as well as hand sanitizers, are available at the gate. On a regular basis, their advisories keep track of the changes. The vendors are not allowed to come inside the apartment now with Covid-129 cases increasing.

He added that the senior persons have been getting help from the association for medicines and for other essential items. The gymnasium and swimming pool belonging to the apartment complex was closed last week and it is said that the residents are not allowed to walk even inside the complex.

From 22nd March, VERWA or Villa Espana Residents Welfare Association had issued 3 guidelines for its residents. Car washes have been banned, newspapers would be left at the gates only and would be picked by the residents plus advisory was issued to all residents about giving leave for the domestic help/cooks till 31st March.

Madipakkam based complex had banned the entry of people as there are many senior citizens in the apartment complex. The newspapers would be purchased instead of being delivered by others.
