Following the total lockdown throughout the country for 21 days, all the court activities in Tamil Nadu State have been blocked.
As a major preventive measure against the raging spread of coronavirus to protect the lives of citizens, a curfew has been imposed throughout the country from yesterday midnight (Tuesday, 24th March) until 14th April midnight for a period of 21 days!
Prime Minister Narendra Modi appealed: “I appeal to the citizens with folded hands! Please refrain from moving out of the houses!’
Subsequently, curfew has been imposed for 21 days. All activities except the very essential services have been stopped throughout the country!
In this scenario, with the 21 days’ curfew, the High Court Administration Council has announced that all court-related activities in Chennai High Court, Madurai Branch of the Chennai High Court, and the lower courts in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry are blocked.
It is further announced that in the case of submitting a petition on ultra-emergency cases, the approval from the concerned judge is required. In case required to contact the court administration regarding court activities, the Chennai High Court and the Branch can be contacted through e-mail!
