Tamil Nadu Chief Minister E. Palaniswamy released the announcement under Act 110:
- A full-size bronze statue of the famous freedom fighter, Veera Vellaiya Devan, as per the public request, will be installed in His Mani Mandapam located at Valla Nadu in Thoothukudi District. Hailing from Tirunelveli, the freedom fighter was known as ‘Veera Vellaiya Devar’ and he was a dear Lieutenant and an adopted son as well to Veerapandiya Kattabooman
- Medical aid finance of Rs. 50000 is being given from the Press Employees Welfare Association when they suffer from severe diseases, especially during the winter period. I had ordered increasing this financial assistance to Rs. 100000. Now, this is further revised upwards to Rs. 200000.
- An emergency flight facility service will be commenced at a cost of Rs. 10 Crores to take the emergency patients to the hospital.
- With the objectives of better administration and to ensure government welfare reaching the citizens, the present Nagappattinam District is bifurcated and a new ‘Mayiladuthurai’ district is being from as the 38th District in the state of Tamil Nadu.
- The monthly financial assistance being given to the students who study in boarding schools is being increased from Rs. 900 to Rs. 1000. For the college students, this monthly assistance is being revised from Rs. 1000 to Rs. 1100.
- As an initiative honoring the former Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa, the Tamil Nadu Higher Education Council Complex is being named as ‘Doctor J. Jayalalithaa Complex’! The statue of Jayalalithaa will be set up in the complex.
