TN Govt Warning: If caught spreading infection in spite of curfew, 2-years imprisonment!

The state government of Tamil Nadu has warned in case the coronavirus infection is spread in spite of the implemented curfew, the offenders will be subject to 2-years imprisonment.

With the curfew/lockdown imposed in the state of Tamil Nadu, Chief Minister E. Palaniswamy is having review meetings with the higher government officials.

It has been planned to set up 4 hospitals in the state of Tamil Nadu exclusively for the treatment of the coronavirus affected patients.

These 4 exclusive hospitals will be located at Tambaram Sanatorium, Madurai - Thoppur, etc.

32 persons who returned from abroad residing in Avadi have been put in house quarantine. The GCC officials have put up special stickers on the houses of quarantine!

As 3 persons who had recently returned from abroad, went for an outing in spite of government order, cases have been registered against them.

Out of these, 1 person belongs to Anna Nagar and the other 2 from Koyambedu.

In Madurai, 2 persons who were found roaming on bikes were fined Rs. 100 each!

The Police Department has issued a warning that any violation of curfew would entail 2-years imprisonment.

In a notification released by the Tamil Nadu State Government regarding the curfew, it is mentioned legal action will be taken on those who violate as per Indian Penal Code Section 270. As per this, if anyone is confirmed to have violated the curfew and is confirmed as responsible for the deadly coronavirus spread, 2 years imprisonment or penalty or both will be imposed!

Violating the Government Order and indulging in activities susceptible to coronavirus spread or acting carelessly, 6-months imprisonment will be imposed under the Indian Penal Code Section 269.

The persons who had been advised to stay in isolated quarantines, in case found violating this, again, as per IPC Section 271, 6 months imprisonment or penalty or both will be imposed!

Chennai Anna Salai sub-inspector Rashid prays to the persons encountered on the road and appeals to them not to come out of the residences. Further, the appeals, ‘I am even ready to fall flat on your feet and appeal to you! Please understand. Do not venture out. All we appeal is, asking you to stay at your own residence! We don’t ask anything more! Even if you had ventured out involuntarily, it is still ok- but go back now!’
