There are as many as 15,298 persons now kept in home quarantine in the state of Tamil Nadu is known. Information collected is some persons go out of this home quarantine and create issues to others. To prevent this, steps are being taken now.
The news that has come out is Thiruvallur police has launched a platform that includes application with facial recognition features. By this, communicating and tracking home quarantine persons would be possible easily.
It is now revealed that since Tuesday, police have booked 3 persons in various localities like Kodambakkam, Anna Nagar and Koyambedu etc as they have come out of their homes after being kept under home quarantine. A total of 171 persons have been kept under home quarantine in Thiruvallur district.
In association with Notion Tag Technologies, the Thiruvallur police have launched ‘Cobuddy’ app. It is a platform having mobile app to track the quarantined persons.
According to Mr. P. Aravindan, SP of Tiruvallur district, the app would help the government track, communicate and coordinate delivery of essentials at the quarantined person doorsteps. After downloading the application, the person would have to take a picture of him/her for the purpose of getting registered. He mentioned about how the application with the help of police officials and health officials would be able to track the quarantined person.
Important point is the home quarantined person would not be able to leave their mobile phones at their homes and go out because random messages would be sent throughout the day to click photo for face recognition based attendance.
