Over 1050 persons from TN who attended Tablighi Jamaat Meet in New Delhi traced

In New Delhi, Tablighi Jamaat Meet took place between 13th and 15th March 2020 and it was attended by the people who came from many parts of India. Many foreigners from abroad also took part in this meet. From Tamil Nadu as many as 1133 persons attended this meet.
It is now said that over 1050 persons out of total 1133 persons have been traced successfully. These persons were tested for Corona virus and were quarantined. This was as per a police officer.
The sources have revealed that Covid-19 test results of as many as 680 persons who attended the meet has come out and 190 turned to be positive for TN persons. It is important to mention that the police department has been on the lookout for others who attended this important meet of the particular religious sect of Islam. It is now said that many persons were stranded at the camps in other states due to this lock down.
As per a senior police official it is clear that most of the attendees of the meet came forward on their own agreed to be quarantined and underwent test for Covid-19 infection.
As many as 200 persons attended the meet from Chennai city and out of these 62 were tested negative and the results of 14 are under process. Point is police department had launched a hunt on the Tablighi members belonging to the state of TN who attended the meet and this was after many tested positive for Corona virus.
